One of the city’s biggest music concerts, JoziFest, is the first of what one expects will become an annual “bashment” party.
Over a single weekend JoziFest will host 11 international acts and about 40 local acts. The main event is just a week away so watch this space for updates. The gig will happen on seven stages throughout the Newtown Precinct. The festival will bring together American underground hip-hop star, Eligh, with local reggae bands 340ml and Tidal Waves.
Other acts include United Kingdom-based godfather of drum and bass, Grooverider, and his compatriots Sub Zero, Felon and Junior Red. To kick-start proceedings and warm the temperature, this weekend there will be a “pre-party” party featuring DJ Destrukto, music connoisseur Blunted Stuntman and other top local DJs. The party will begin at 3.30pm. Entrance fee is nominal if you already have a JoziFest ticket.
Town Hall, 66 Carr Street, Newtown, on September 27 from 3.30pm. Tickets available at ticketbreak.co.za.
