Profile

Cynthia Mashaba channels her entrepreneurial spirit and academic foundation into tackling one of South Africa’s most pressing challenges: clean energy access. As director of Do-Lb Green Technologies Consulting, she leads innovative biogas initiatives that transform organic waste into renewable energy. A career-defining milestone was her leadership of a SANEDI-sponsored project that installed 100 biogas digesters in Limpopo, delivering off-grid energy to underserved households. Her impact extends beyond infrastructure. Cynthia has trained 40  interns in biogas system operation through an EWSETA-supported programme and conducts community workshops to raise awareness of renewable energy. Passionate about education, she mentors schoolchildren on sustainability and agricultural innovation. Guided by the mentorship of Professor David Tinarwo, Cynthia continues to explore scalable, context-specific solutions for energy and environmental challenges. Her work is driven by purpose and self-belief, proving that with the right tools and mindset, clean energy can empower not just homes — but generations.
